I have to start my music related posts off by listing one of the most influential bands that I have ever listened to growing up as a young adult. At the age of 13 I used to hear an awesome guitar riff coming out of my brothers bedroom stereo followed by the most infectious drum intro and after questioning my brother about it this turned out to be 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' by Nirvana from their second album Nevermind.

Having purchased my own copy of the album on CD I played it exhaustively and then went on to buy their first album Bleach which I loved just as much, It was Kurt and my brother who at the time played in a band himself (The Norwegians) that influenced and encouraged me to learn to play guitar myself which I did and still do today.

I was fortunate enough to see Nirvana live back in 22nd June 1992 at The Kings Hall in Belfast at the age of 15, my first ever BIG gig which I will remember fondly for the rest of my days.
